WONDER PAWS INTERN PROGRAMME

2019 INTERNSHIP COMMENCES 2nd March 2019

- closing date for applications 31/1/19

Wonder Paws has opportunities open to join our team for 6 months as a Volunteer Intern.

If you are currently studying Canine Behaviour & Training or are actively volunteering in Shelters or Rescues and are interested in learning more about modern, positive, science-based dog training techniques, then this Internship is for you.

The internship combines study of animal learning theory, specialist webinars and practical experience working with clients and dogs as part of a dynamic training school.

The 2019 Internship starts in March and runs for a period of 6 months.

Dog Training is a very physical occupation so applicants need to be in full physical health and driving is an advantage.  A time commitment of 8-hours a week (split between evenings & weekends) and study is required, plus a willingness to work outdoors in all weather.

Each intern will be expected to commit to:

  • 1 Tues (or Thurs eve in summer), 6.30-9pm, per week PLUS

  • 1 Sat and/or Sun (9-5pm) per weekend

  • plus travelling time to both our Bray and Dogs Trust locations - driving own car is an advantage

Successful applicants are selected via application form and interview.

Any additional info needed, just email  cathy@wonderpaws.ie

The internship is open to students of QQI Level 5 or 6 Animal Care or 3rd level Canine Behaviour & Training, veterinary students/professionals.  Shelter or Rescue work experience is an advantage, together with a passion for helping dogs and supporting their owners.

CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS IS 31st JANUARY 2019

The Internship is limited to 6 places.
